Posted by gleanings1 on November 27, 2009

In Eritrea, security forces have arrested 11 members of the Asmara Full Gospel Church since Oct 14. Some are being held at Amara’s Police Station Number 5. Almost 3,000 Christians are detained across the country because they worship outside of the government approved Orthodox, Catholic and Lutheran churches. OD knows of at least ten Christians who have died after facing horrendous prison conditions. OpenDoors asks people to pray for these Christians. Christians are said to be held prisoners in metal shipping containers.

Regional Parade

Posted by gleanings1 on November 27, 2009

A discussion paper into the future of the Pride Parade has been released 16 Nov by Gay in WA. It gives an indication of why there has been a push to bring the Parade to regional areas. The paper says that because of the success of the gay community into changing WA laws the future of the Parade has often been debated. Only half of those who responded to the survey said the Parade should continue.
